The Sign of Jazz

The Sign of Jazz was founded in 2011 by a group of musicians from the San Pietro a Majella Conservatoire in Naples. The project combines artistic direction, musical consultancy and artist selection for weddings, private events, festivals, music festivals, venues and clubs, with an approach designed to give music a central role throughout the entire event. This profile is aimed at those seeking an elegant yet flexible line-up, capable of ranging from a vocal and piano duo or trio to larger ensembles featuring saxophone, guitar, percussion, strings, a choir, DJ sets and additional musicians.

When organising a wedding, the process begins with choosing the band that best suits the style of the reception, the venue and the couple’s tastes. Once the band has been selected, their repertoire is analysed, with recommendations on which songs to play at key moments and a set list designed to distinguish between the ceremony, the pre-dinner drinks, the dinner, the cutting of the cake and the final party. Where required by the organisers, the process also includes a technical site visit, an assessment of the existing power supply, set-up, transport, equipment installation and consultation with the venue management regarding the day’s schedule.

The atmosphere can be refined, intimate and acoustic, or more engaging, depending on the stage of the event. The repertoire spans jazz, bossa nova, swing, soul, R&B, gospel, sophisticated pop, light music, Italian, Latin and ethnic influences, world music and electronic sounds. The choice of instruments forms part of the artistic identity: in addition to guitar, piano, saxophone and percussion, the line-up may include harp, violin, flute, clarinet and cello, creating a sound and visual impact that is consistent with the context.

The Sign of Jazz has also gained experience in public events and artistic programmes, ranging from festivals featuring international special guests to clubs and restaurants across the Campania region. In live settings, it fosters a close relationship between musicians and the audience, striving to strike a balance between the quality of the performance, the warmth of the atmosphere and professional stage management. In the wedding and private events sector, it has collaborated with prestigious venues and organisations, including Samnium Resort, Le Colonne, Tenute San Bartolomeo, Tenute Torre Gaia, Crowne Plaza and Golden Tulip Plaza.

The proposal can cater for both purely musical elements and more organisational requirements, as the project brings together musicians, technicians and supervisors. This approach makes it possible to stage events in indoor venues, outdoor venues, hotels, resorts, restaurants, clubs and public spaces, with solutions tailored to the venue’s size, sound levels and stage presence.
